It is not uncommon for companies to assert that they prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion in their workforce. However, the true measure of success lies in their retention of staff from diverse backgrounds. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, and Program Director, my experience has shown that personnel who encounter hostile interactions rooted in their race, gender, sexuality, or disability often feel marginalized in the workplace.
